Full-Time Project Reporting VP
Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Project Reporting role in Project Services is the point person on overseeing the highest priority programs within the investment bank.
The Project Reporting VP will be responsible for:
Coordinating inputs from multiple programs
Ensure programs are operating according to relevant standards and governance
Developing a highly efficient and effective reporting process
Overseeing the management and resolution of risks and issues
Supporting Change Management Director on various projects
This is a senior role and the successful candidate is expected to be able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, often to very tight deadlines.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
SUPPORT
• Supporting the preparation of board/steering committee materials
• Planning and scheduling meetings, participating in the meetings, and writing minutes
• Setting-up or improving project management processes (status reporting, issue management, etc.)
• Managing documentation repositories (ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately)
• Taking ownership of issues; following through to resolution within agreed timeframes
• Creating, executing and maintaining project plans
• Managing day-to-day operational aspects of a project
• Ensuring the projects are managed in accordance with Project Services methodology and delivery standards
RESPONSE MANAGEMENT
• Assisting with developing and communicating our response plan
• Overseeing development of our response
• Assisting and preparation for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
REMEDIATION OVERSIGHT
• Capturing remediation activities
• Tracking commitments and identify/manage issues and risks
• Drive remediation points to full closure and sign-off
• Supporting the Change Management director in ensuring we meet our commitments
REPORTING
• Providing regular and ad-hoc project reporting (i.e. project status, risks and issues etc) as requested by senior management
• Reporting our exposure and risk on projects
Ad hoc reporting to regulators, the board and senior management
COMMUNICATION
• Facilitates stakeholder meetings and status meetings with project team effectively
• Keeps project team well informed of changes within the projects
• Effectively communicates relevant project information to senior management
• Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized and good quality presentations
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely manner
Division/Department Overview
Project Services provides skilled project management resources to lead the Investment Bank’s cross divisional, cross departmental, high risk, high priority initiatives. Our Project Managers are fully accountable for the delivery of assigned initiatives, typically from start-up through delivery.
Project managers from this team drive initiatives from initiation through to deployment in a consistent and structured manner leveraging project management and system development methodologies and tools. The Investment Bank utilizes Project Services in project managing and delivering the following types of projects:
Global initiatives that transcend regions, offices, and time zones
Large scale initiatives to reduce risks and improve controls
Cross-division/cross-department/functional initiatives that deliver a new business or infrastructure capability or enhance an existing capability
Regulatory or externally mandated initiatives with fixed delivery dates
Independent project health checks and post-implementation reviews
Project Services is an independent group that manages critical projects for sponsors across the organization, including the Front Office and senior Finance and Operations management. Typically the project manager will be assigned full time to a project, sometimes working alone, and sometimes with support depending upon the size of the project.

Qualifications
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS:
Essential
• Graduate with 2.i degree
• Significant project management experience with a leading consulting firm within financial services or in an international investment bank
• Experience in Programme Office work i.e. Project planning, Risk and issue management, Status reporting and Steering committee management
• Track record in delivering major projects in an investment bank or similar institution
• Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
• Strong knowledge of investment banking business processes – front to back
• Ease in dealing with senior management
• Experience in achieving results in a project context using resources that do not report directly to them
• Solid knowledge of IT, including experience of: managing IT-oriented projects, user requirements development, and testing
• Good understanding of IT oriented methods and approaches
• Extremely strong organisational skills
• Strong relationship skills
• Good knowledge of standard office software applications (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
• Thorough knowledge of project management methods, standards and processes.
Desirable
• PRINCE2 Practitioners certification or PMI Certification
