The LSE School of Public Policy launches in September 2018 and aims to equip students with the skills and ideas to transform people and societies

Job Description

The School of Public Policy will be an international community where ideas and practice meet, creating professionals with the ability to analyse, understand and resolve the challenges of contemporary governance.

A new Dean for the School of Public Policy will be announced in early autumn 2018. We are now seeking an Executive Assistant to work with the Dean to provide administrative and organisational support including diary management, events, travel arrangements and ad-hoc project work.

Specifically, the post-holder will be the first point of contact for enquiries to the new Dean and will manage these with sensitivity and tact. The candidate will provide PA support including making bookings for travel and accommodation while the Dean is travelling on LSE business. The post-holder will manage the Dean’s diary, co-ordinating with colleagues elsewhere in the School of Public Policy and more widely in LSE, contributing to the smooth running of the department.

Candidates for this role should have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft packages especially MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and some Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, and an eye for detail to ensure the complete accuracy of work. Written and spoken Spanish skills are needed, and some previous experience of executive support for senior colleagues would be advantageous but more important would be an ability to act with discretion and diplomacy with a wide range of stakeholders.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.
