The WHO’s Regional Office for Africa (AFRO), the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, and the LSE have received funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to establish a new Network for African Health Systems and Policies (NAHSP), a network for the African region, hosted by the WHO’s African Health Observatory. The collaboration will grow and consolidate the WHO’s African Health Observatory and regional capacity to generate evidence for health systems strengthening.
The Policy Officer will be expected to conduct rigorous analysis in collaboration with research and academic staff, writing up research and policy relevant outputs and working with the LSE NAHSP project team and partners to design and deliver a policy focused dissemination plan for the programme.
Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in health policy or related topic, experience of writing policy relevant outputs including policy briefs and blogs as well as experience of planning project outputs to a policy audience. The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills with audiences of all levels and be able to effectively interact with funders and partners. The role does involve overseeing and promoting engagement activities globally and locally with audiences in public and private sectors, and candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to contribute to organising events and managing social media communications.
