The Men’s Medium Secure IPU provides recovery and rehabilitation treatment in a medium secure environment. Our 5 wards care for patients with Psychosis, Personality Disorder and Acute Brain Injury as well older adults, younger adults 18 - 35 years and deaf patients.
 
Your role with us

Joining our friendly social work team, you will be responsible to our Principal Social Worker and supervised by qualified social workers within the team. We provide regular supervision, annual performance review and opportunities for development. There is an expectation that the post holder will seek to develop their skills in the specialist area. The post holder will have excellent communication skills and a can do attitude in addition to:
 • Good communication skills with individuals and their diverse needs
 • To work in a multidisciplinary manner and build relationships with other colleagues and professionals
 • Awareness of adult abuse
 • Be able to work autonomously but recognise when support is needed. 
 • Good written and recording skills
 
Regular supervision is provided and opportunities for development both in social work and other related practice issues are provided and encouraged.
 
Your profile

Diploma 3 or above in Health and Social Care/Supporting People or equivalent is desirable & you will have experience within a mental health field of work, ideally within a Health / Social Care setting.
