Pearson Accelerated Pathways is a fast-growing division within Pearson, and is seeking a highly-qualified, and energetic colleague to assist in the management of Academic Partner success.The Director of Academic Partner Operations works closely with the Director of Operations and Partnerships to oversee launch and day-to-day operational activities at our academic partners. The APOD exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results and works on significant and unique issues or problems that requires an in-depth knowledge of academic institutions and enrollment service providers.

Working with key operational decision makers at each college including executives, deans, program and department chairs, IT, faculty members, and other administrators, the APOD manages the initial launch of programs and oversees the ongoing delivery of administrative services to students. In addition, the APOD continuously demonstrates Accelerated Pathways’ value to partners through thoughtful tactical and strategic oversight of day-to-day operational matters. In coordination with the Director of Operations and Partnerships and the Platform Team, the DAPO also actively supports and enforces defined escalation and communication plans to resolve administrative issues.

The Director of Academic Partner Operations will maintain positive relationships with his/her assigned accounts, and to grow Pearson’s Accelerated Pathways business in those accounts by working to improve functional area cooperation, with the goal of increasing enrollment, retention and completion.

Performance measures:

  • School account revenue
  • Maintenance of functional area KPIs
  • School account contract retention and renewals

General Responsibilities

  • Ensures partner colleges are apprised of Accelerated Pathways’ strategic initiatives and value propositions, and actively promote participation.
  • Works with Platform team on resolving day-to-day operational and process improvement matters for assigned partner colleges.
  • Participates in college partner-facing reviews. Acts as the internal escalation point of contact to Platform and Customer Success teams for tactical matters at assigned colleges.
  • Participates in meetings as appropriate with Platform, Customer Success, and BD to ensure alignment, provide direction, review issues, updates, outstanding college approvals and deliverables, and address questions.
  • Maintains relationships and communications with operational directors and executives at partner colleges, on Pearson’s behalf.
  • Acts as the point person for the escalation of tactical concerns at the College.
  • Meets on-campus monthly with leadership and college operators.
  • Maintains relationships with Business Development and Customer Success teams to identify areas in need of operational improvement, and work to solve or mitigate issues on an on-going basis.
  • Manages the account P&L and signs off on the final reconciliation of accounts.Identifies any impacts on P&L because of special requests made by Academic Partner and propose solutions to ensure alignment with P&L.
  • Forecasts both new and returning student enrollment for each corporate client assigned to the college.
  • During implementation:
  • Manages all aspects of implementation and delivery resources
  • Monitors status and work to resolve and/or escalate issues as appropriate


General Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Business, Sales, or equivalent discipline OR appropriate combination of experience and education.
  • Experience with:
  • Customer Support
  • Sales forecasting
  • Effective project management, implementation and delivery strategies
  • Working independently on many concurrent activities
  • Knowledge of Excel, financial modeling and presentation solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a track record of developing actionable recommendations from quantitative data.
  • Great attention to detail, excellent organizational & project management skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, and work well under pressure with tight timelines.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.
