The role of an Activity Coordinator
You will be busy. Very busy! Firstly, building and maintaining therapeutic relationships with Patients. Secondly you will be creating, facilitating, coordinating and planning activities for and with our Patients for “on-ward”. This role is based within both the Learning Disability ward and the Autism ward; therefore you should be conscious of this when creating and planning activities.
Your planning will involve activities for individuals and groups. The key phrase within this role is “Patient centered”. Every interaction you have with our Patients needs to be therapeutic and help them progress along their recovery.
What you will need for this role
Be honest, have integrity and be engaged in our patients welfare. Just a few ways you will be able to inspire our Patients to transform their lives. Using your excellent IT skills, your creativity and your life experiences, you will create and schedule planned activities on the wards so you will need to be very organised. You will have a collaborative work style as you need to involve Patients and other member of staff in the activities. Finally, you will need to be someone who finds it easy to motivate people who may not be interested in what you are trying to achieve for them. A skilled used of IT
