About the role
As we strive towards better supporting the lives of everyone living with cancer, Macmillan is developing a new fully-integrated money and work service to be delivered face-to-face in healthcare settings by a small team of advisers.

As one of these advisers, you will interact daily with people living with cancer, some of whom will have only very recently been diagnosed. During these interactions, you will look at the whole person to identify and assess all their potential money and work needs. In accordance with this assessment, you will offer specialist welfare and benefit support and/ or act as a gateway to other relevant Macmillan money and work-related services. You will deliver a high-quality, high-impact and consistent Macmillan experience, and in doing so, will be an instrumental part of helping people with cancer find their best way through. 

About you
You will have a deep understanding of the benefits system and be able to deliver benefits/welfare rights advice to a very high standard. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. It is essential that you can remain calm and competent under pressure.

Working hours
34.5 hours per week on a rota basis.  Hours will be worked between 08:00-20:15, Monday to Friday, with daily travel expected.

Process
The assessment centre and interviews will be held on Wednesday 5th December 2018. We will be holding an assessment centre and interviews on the same day, please be mindful following the mornings assessment centre you may be invited back for interview in the afternoon.
