Job Description

The Strategic events team within the Communications division will place you at the heart of Macmillan where you will support a range of events to engage and inspire Macmillan staff, volunteers, healthcare professionals, people living with cancer key decision makers in cancer policy and the NHS.

This role will support all members of the team to plan and deliver our portfolio of events and conferences and support the running of our advisory service. 

The role will be responsible for maintaining and improving tools, resources and guidance which enable the team to deliver to high standards as well as promote best practice across the organisation. 

In this varied role, no two days are the same and you could be producing event materials, processing delegate registrations, supporting the delivery of an event, filming an event or finding a venue in addition to contributing ideas for how we can improve our events.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work to tight deadlines, perform under pressure and have a keen eye for details. You will also have a confident and outgoing personality and be able to communicate at all levels including senior stakeholders, peers and event participants as you will often be the first point of contact into the team.

The role requires excellent organisation and administrative skills and a high level of computer literacy in all Microsoft Office packages.
