Part-time office manager role with out lovely team in Reading

Job Description

One of the largest employee-owned companies in the world, Mott MacDonald is a multisector consultancy providing services on projects that benefit communities and environments around the globe. Our Reading office houses a diverse team of engineers, project managers and support staff (c. 75 staff in total), and we are keen to recruit a part-time assistant to cover the office manager's duties on her regular days off, and provide an increased level of support to the business when you are both in.

The core days are Mondays and Fridays, with up to two further days open to discussion. Your normal hours are expected to be 09:00 to 17:30, but there can be a degree of flexibility. Equally, there will be occasions when input is required outside of these hours.

Your duties and responsibilities will be many and varied, consistent with what one would expect in a role of this type. Candidate profile:

  • Highly organised, with the ability to multitask and prioritise demanding and changing workloads throughout the day, with minimal supervision
  • Fine attention to detail
  • Flexible, with a proactive approach to work
  • Personable and enthusiastic; comfortable interacting with staff at all levels
  • Able to make recommendations to improve office practices and procedures where appropriate
  • Fully IT literate; intermediate-level in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Engaged with your own personal development
