The Associate Content Developer works on the content development for a component of a product.

Working in-house as part of a project team, the Associate Content Developer:

●Executes plans for the writing and editing of content throughout its lifecycle

●Collaborates as necessary with other team members on the instructional design and development of prototypes and briefs

●Implements new workflows and tools for the continuous improvement of content development

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand and implement established product brief; record agreed changes and keep brief up to date

Assist Content Developers and Content Development Managers in the preparation and processing of contracts for vendors, including creating lists of deliverables and dates

Work with editorial vendors to ensure consistent use of our content management system and consistent delivery (on schedule and on spec) of the content

Support vendors in using standard or proprietary content writing and development tools and in meeting manuscript preparation standards

Review content for quality and structure prior to digital or print production; when necessary under deadline, bring quality of content up to standard through development and revision under the supervision of Content Development Manager or Content Developer

Review page passes of print product or alpha and beta passes of digital product for content and functional accuracy

Select and prepare scripts and assets for all phases of content development

Stay up to date with trends in second language acquisition pedagogy and assessment; stay up to date in English language learning market needs and trends

Key relationships:

Content Development Manager, Content Developers, Senior Content Producer and Editorial Vendors

Supervisory responsibilities:

Supervise freelancers and vendors through continuous monitoring of quality and deadlines; In consultation with the Content Development Manager and Content Developers, give editorial feedback to freelancers and vendors.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

●University/College degree in linguistics, foreign language, or related field

●Qualification in teaching English as a second/foreign language (Cert or Diploma in TEFL or TESOL) desired

Skills/Knowledge

●Sound business and technical acumen, with the ability to navigate a complex and highly matrixed organization effectively, establishing effective communication lines to multiple stakeholders

●Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines, remaining pragmatic and results-focused.

●Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills

Prior Experience

Some Publishing/Editorial and teaching experience in English as a second or foreign language or in foreign languages
