The Position:

As an Associate Technical Product Manager at Pearson, you’ll be working with a highly-capable team of product leaders, architects, UX designers, engineers and testers focused on building efficacious learning experiences on Pearson’s flagship learning management system, Pearson REALIZE.

REALIZE gives ‘digital natives’ the learning experience that they have come to expect. It is the online destination for standards-aligned content, flexible class management tools, and embedded assessment that deliver rich data instantly to teachers.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with user experience designers, architects, engineers, and quality assurance to translate high-level business objectives into detailed development requirements
• Use quantitative and qualitative methods to balance business and technical needs
• Author comprehensive and detail product backlogs including stories and acceptance criteria that teams’ can quickly digest and execute against
• Perform acceptance and ad-hoc functional testing of new features
• Effectively manage trade-offs between cost/schedule versus business benefit
• Manage projects, drive delivery, plan/organize work, manage risks, communicate effectively and adapt to inevitable challenges
• Manage and coordinate technical integrations across multiple lines of business

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

• Technical degree and 1-2 years in a product management or business analysis role
• Familiarity with Agile product development
• Familiarity with web-based and mobile application development
• Familiarity with market research, persona development and data analysis techniques
• Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Self-starter, accustomed to working in a changing environment, who takes pride and ownership their products
• Excellent communicator, comfortable having technical discussions with both internal and external stakeholders
• Preference for candidates with experience in K-12 education
• BS in computer science, information systems or similar area of study
