We are now looking for an Azure Technical Team Lead to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.

You will join our award-winning Digital, Data and Technology Directorate which is the in-house IT division at the heart of the move to a digital, data-driven organisation with the ambition to provide our customers with cutting-edge digital services. You will be part of the IT Operations Practice, which is responsible for the performance and delivery of all technical infrastructure which underpins and supports the organisation. It consists of a number of technical teams which provide support, monitor and operate technical solutions.

HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.


Job description

As an Azure Technical Team Lead, you will provide leadership to the Corporate Platform team, providing technical oversight and direction. You will engage with other Technical Leads, Delivery Leads, New Service Managers and Architects to deliver solutions to agreed designs, contributing to business as usual activities, work packages and strategic planning. The Corporate Platform team serves a key function in the provision and maintenance of the HM Land Registry cloud casework platform and back-office applications hosted on Azure.

Within your role, you will provide technical input for projects and larger pieces of work, aiming for greater operating efficiency and development of further cost-effective options for its use; whilst ensuring the availability and reliability are kept at the highest possible levels. You will also develop team members to meet the future needs of HM Land Registry, whilst addressing succession planning and managing any single points of failure and will take forward technical consolidation and improvement activities providing guidance and leadership to technicians within the IT Operations Practice and wider.


Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will have an in-depth knowledge, proven expertise and practical experience in at least three of the following: Windows or Azure technology; managing cloud services in a production environment; the use of infrastructure to support production systems; knowledge of Infrastructure automation.

You will have experience of setting standards and working with infrastructure engineers to ensure adoption; along with the ability to manage technical risk and lead implementing appropriate mitigations and to plan, manage and deliver significant technical change. You can also demonstrate your strong leadership skills through coaching or mentoring and can interact and build working relationships with stakeholders.
