We’re the CIPD — the professional body for HR and people development. We are the voice of a worldwide community of 140,000 members committed to championing better work and working lives. We’ve been setting the benchmark for excellence in people and organisation development for more than 100 years, helping members build their professional expertise and organisations build their HR and leadership capability.
The CIPD's branch network is our strongest face to face connection with our membership and the HR profession. With more than 900 volunteers the network is made up of some of our most active and passionate members.
We have an opportunity for a Branch and Volunteer Development Manager to lead a team supporting our volunteers as the network continues to evolve and modernise. The team support our 52 Branches across the UK and beyond in providing events, community, connection and support for HR professionals.
Ideally you will have experience of working with volunteers and understand the value they bring to an organisation. This is a rewarding role requiring you to be able build strong relationships, listen well and solve problems collaboratively. It is important that you have a willingness to get involved and have a hands-on (and ears open) approach to problem solving that balances competing demands and requests.
To do this well you will need outstanding communication skills, to be trustworthy, passionate and open and able to quickly establish rapport with different groups of volunteers and stakeholders.
There has never been a more interesting or important time to join us. We offer a friendly and stimulating culture and a wide range of professional development opportunities and benefits such as 28 days’ holiday, free two-course lunch and flexible working hours.
