Job Description

The Business Development & Commercial (BDC) Manager leads the BDC team and is responsible for developing asset strategies and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) growth, improving asset financial performance, and developing and managing contracts. The role is also responsible for joint venture board representation, maintaining and delivering value through tariffs, and supporting financial plans and commercial analysis for US Pipelines (USPL) and BP Midstream Partners (BPMP).

The overall goal in the management of the BDC team is to leverage internal and industry knowledge and relationships, and affiliate relationships to create value for USPL, BPMP, and the BP Group. The role is expected to be highly proactive across various BP businesses to understand broader strategies and drive an agreed agenda ensuring development of pipeline assets. The role is also highly visible in the industry to develop relationships and identify external opportunities in support of BPMP and USPL growth.

  • Supports BPMP Chief Development Officer in a Master Limited Partnership (MLP) drop down and growth strategies, drop down transactions, and BPMP commercial activities.
  • Leads Drop down process for all BPPNA owned or operated assets, as well as leading BPMP commercial activities.
  • Lead the development and improvement of Gross Margin Forecasting in support of BPMP and USPL.
  • Leads BPMP and USPL business development and commercial projects.
  • The Business Development & Commercial team interfaces with BPMP, Finance, Treasury, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Tax, HSSE, and other partners to ensure projects are aligned with USPL, BPMP, and affiliate strategies.


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business discipline required.
