The Business Analyst is a member of the Product team and:

  • is responsible for analyzing and evaluating complex business problems, developing business, functional and system requirement
  • works closely with development, architecture and business operations team to iterate on solutions for new product development efforts

Functions:

  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders
  • Document and maintain business, functional and technical requirements

-Create process diagrams and user stories

  • Plan, conduct, and manage the analysis of business problems to be solved through software or infrastructure solutions
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical requirements

-Provide technical leadership to identify, evaluate, and develop systems and procedures that meet the user requirements

  • Coordinate closely with QA team on test planning, writing of test cases, test execution and defect investigation
  • Using WSE technologies, as well as specialized research tools and software, configure system and gather, compile, and analyse data relevant to field of specialization developing recommendations based on analysis
  • Work proactively to anticipate business and customer needs and requirements through Early Adopter programs
  • Coordinate release notes, documentation and communications

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science (or equivalent experience), graduate coursework is desirable.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Additional experience in another IT role (e.g. software development, testing, project management)
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • Experience with UML

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Ability to represent the organization as the principle customer contact

Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize work, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Strong, logical problem solving skills combined with good judgment in enacting solutions
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly while remaining flexible
  • Must be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
