Impressive admin skills? Looking to develop your customer services, fundraising support and events experience?

Job Description

Strong administration and planning skills will be key in securing this role as you will be pivotal in supporting the Challenge Events Manager with the delivery and development of our challenge event programme. You will take ownership of allocated projects and act as our first point of contact both within Macmillan and for our supporters.

You must be flexible, supportive and team-minded in your approach to work, and will also need to demonstrate the ability to take personal responsibility, act independently, and manage your time to achieve objectives across several strands of activity.

Your responsibilities will range from overseeing donation-thanking and financial processing, to being the first point of contact for all supporters. You will take ownership of multiple weekly tasks, always looking for ways of improving these processes. It’s imperative that you are a team player, regularly and proactively updating the team on your work.

You will need to liaise extensively - across Macmillan nationally as well as with supporters – and well-developed communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills will be central to your success.

The exemplary care of our donors and a positive experience of Macmillan for all will be high on your agenda – keeping you focused and positive when dealing with substantial volumes of what can be repetitive and routine work. You will possess customer/supporter-facing experience and will demonstrate resilience, patience, and the willingness to go the extra mile. Fundraising experience would also add value.

You will be required to provide support at a number of challenge events on our programme and this may occasionally involve unsocial hours, weekend working and time spent away from home.

And what do we do for you in return for your enthusiasm and commitment? We commit to actively developing you at Macmillan, from internal training opportunities to mentoring across the organisation. Our benefits include private health insurance, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous leave and interest free loans for season ticket and gym membership.
