The Department of Economics is one of the largest economics departments in the World, with over 70 faculty and 1100 students. The Department is seeking a highly committed and motivated Communications Assistant to work within the Departments Communications team, supporting the Communications Manager in delivering the objectives outlined in the Communications Strategy.
This role will be considered as a secondment opportunity to enable existing employees to broaden their knowledge, experience and skills by transferring to a different team/department. Existing employees wishing to apply for this role as a secondment opportunity should discuss the role and seek agreement from their substantive manager in advance of their application.
The post holder will have relevant experience of working in an administrative role, proven experience of compiling content for weekly/monthly publications together with strong IT skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential along with the ability to plan and organise own workloads. Previous experience working in a Higher Education setting is desirable. The elements of the role require a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, providing a high quality, professional standard of service and the use of initiative and common sense to solve problems.
