The UKRI GCRF Gender, Justice and Security Hub is a five year project working at the overlap of three major policy fields: Sustainable Development Goal 5 on gender equality; goal 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions; and the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
The Hub is housed in the Centre for Women, Peace and Security (LSE WPS), a leading academic space for scholars, practitioners, activists, policy-makers and students to develop strategies to promote justice, human rights and participation for women in conflict-affected situations around the world. The Communications Manager will work in the Centre for Women Peace and Security and in the Hub Management, Impact, Communications and Administration team, with members based at LSE and in Research Partner Organisations in Colombia, Iraq, Uganda and Sri Lanka.
The Communications Manager will be responsible for Hub and LSE WPS external and internal communications. They will develop and implement a communications strategy for the Hub, work collaboratively with colleagues in multiple locations to gather, generate and update content, managing brand identity and providing style guidance and editorial support. They will lead on a review and development of communications in the Centre for Women, Peace and Security, including websites, the LSE WPS blog, Working Paper Series, research publications and social media.
The post holder will have experience working in a communications role in an academic context, or in the field of women’s rights, human rights or international development. Experience of contributing to a communication strategy is essential; experience of leading in the development and implementation of such a strategy would be an advantage.
