The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson VUE offers dynamic teacher licensing and performance assessment solutions. Our custom teacher licensure testing programs are 100 percent aligned to state standards. We also provide a wide variety of teacher licensure testing services such as test development, administration, and scoring.

The Part-time Content Specialist in School Services/School Administrator occupies a position within the Test Development Services department of Evaluations Systems. The qualified candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: School Counseling, School Social Work, School Psychology. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop test questions and other related materials for educator licensure assessments in the areas of school services/school administration. Other responsibilities include reviewing and editing materials from other writers and ensuring content accuracy and quality control. The Content Specialist reports to a Test Development Manager.

This position is located in our Hadley, MA office.

Responsibilities

  • Writes test items, practice tests, study guides, test frameworks, and related products
  • Reviews and edits test questions and related assessment materials developed by other writers
  • Evaluates the alignment of assessment materials to state and national standards
  • Stays apprised of developing trends in school services/school administration fields at the state and national level

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree (Preferred) in a field directly related to school services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of school services, with in-depth knowledge of at least one of the following areas: School Counseling, School Social Work, School Psychology.
  • Experience in the public school setting desirable but not required
  • School services assessment and/or curriculum development experience with an educational publisher or assessment provider a plus

Skills

  • Demonstrated advanced writing, editorial, and research skills
  • Must be proficient with computers and software, including Microsoft Word
  • Must be organized and able to set priorities and meet deadlines with high quality work
  • Must be willing and able to accept/apply constructive feedback to refine skills
  • Works well in a collaborative team setting
