Job Description

Contract Manager

Band A (Grade 7)

Salary: from £48,000 - £60,484

Location: London

The Cabinet Office manages the Civil Service Pension Scheme (CSPS), which is the third biggest pensions scheme in the UK, with over 1.5 million members, covering 330 employers. We also look after another large scheme, the Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme (RMSPS). Our ambition is to make them the best administered public sector pension schemes in the UK throughout the 2020s.

With that in mind, we’re looking for a really capable Contract Manager to take the lead in managing our £300m contract with the Civil Service scheme administrator, which involves spending £6 billion of public money each year.

To help us deliver our vision, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of contract management and leading teams. Excellent communication, people management and stakeholder engagement skills will be key, as well as the ability to think on your feet, make decisions, and act rapidly to resolve problems. You’ll be comfortable working autonomously to drive progress and will thrive on the challenges of operating in an often rapidly-changing environment.

While the role will undoubtedly be stretching, it presents a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Contract manager to work at the centre of Government and build a more fulfilling, and rewarding, career in the Civil Service.

Closing date: midnight on 4th August 2017.
