Job Description

Virgin Money is on a quest to build a better bank; our aim is to make everyone better off.   As part of the Virgin Money Legal team, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in achieving this ambition. You will be involved in a range of corporate, equity and debt capital markets transactions as well as advising on corporate law, legal and regulatory developments and governance issues.

We are looking for candidates:

with a good transactional experience;
with experience of or a desire to be involved in transaction/project activity;
with a pragmatic approach to problem solving whilst understanding the importance of balancing commercial thinking with legal, regulatory and contractual compliance;
who are proactive and have strong communication skills;
who are able to influence and deal confidently with key stakeholders to create and maintain strong relationships; and
with the ability to think creatively to help us “do things differently” as a Legal team.

You will need to be a team player and be able to effectively manage a busy workload, prioritising tasks between competing demands.

You will be a fully qualified solicitor with corporate or finance transactional experience (gained in-house or at a top law firm) and be around 0 to 2 year’s post qualification experience. Previous experience in the financial services sector would be of interest but is not essential.

The role will be based in Edinburgh or Newcastle, with travel between our London, Newcastle and Edinburgh offices occasionally required.
