Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide comprehensive and accurate cost reporting utilizing data from both BP systems and contractor supplied information including appropriate level of analysis to ensure a "no surprise" approach.
  • Closely monitor cost performance against realistic targets to ensure that objectives and key performance indicators are met.
  • Review contractors' invoices for accuracy and ensure they are in accordance with contracts.
  • Work with contractors to develop and maintain appropriate and accurate cash flows and cost forecasts, and interface with the appropriate Project/Program Managers and TA Execution Leads.
  • Manage BP Costs tracking tool to ensure compliance with original estimate.
  • Manage change control process.
  • Support construction activities in the field.
  • Identify, analyze, and respond to project opportunities, risks, and uncertainties.
  • Utilize the work breakdown structure to assign costs, including management of work orders.
  • Monitor and update contractor and vendor purchase order values in the BP systems.
  • Review all charges for consistency and proper assignment.
  • Manage accruals to provide accurate reporting of Actual Cost of Work Performed.
  • Support validation of contractor field progress.
  • Ensure alignment between P6 schedule and project cash flows.
  • Apply Cherry Point cost controls policies, procedures, processes, guidelines, tools, and templates.
  • Maintain compliance with BP Published Guidelines and Common Process as it relates to cost controls.
  • Support team with stage gated process.
  • Prepare final cost reports. Work with site resources to complete all closeout requirements including lessons learned exercises.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for the cost team and assigned controls team.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project controls systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience with stage-gated project execution processes.
  • Understanding of Front End Loading concepts, engineering, and project development.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects of various sizes and complexity.
  • Strong organization, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of database applications, e.g., MS access, Maximo, CCTS, EPOCH, ECOSYS and MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, and spreadsheets)
  • Use of P6 for maintaining accurate cashflows
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management
  • 5 Years' Experience
  • 4 Year Degree or equivalent experience
