Summary:

The Custom Senior Editor reports to the Development Director for Customizationandis responsible for content planning and all stages of content development and review for print and digital products. This resource works across internal teams (design, production, digital, manufacturing, sales and marketing) as well as with vendor partners to create high quality customized products​across disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create competitive curriculum product plans based on state standards and requirements.​
  • ​Plan editorial development​ ​workflow and monitor execution of print and digital projects
  • ​Monitor​content accuracy and pedagogical integrity​throughout development.
  • Work with other editors, designers, and marketing staff to ensure that project plans and execution address customer needs.
  • Manage projects​to ensure schedule, budget, and guidelines expectations are met throughout​​ all stages of development.
  • ​Hire and manage vendors through various phases of development for content planning and content development for print and digital products.

Qualifications

  • Generally requires 4-5 years publishing experience and/or teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science​or History/​Social Sciences preferred.

Additional skills/knowledge/abilities:

  • Strong writ​ten​ ​and verbal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills including organization and follow-up.
  • Ability to manage external vendors effectively.
  • ​Ability to manage multiple projects at once within tight deadlines.​
  • Collaborative and creative problem-solver.​
