Job Description

Could you lead, inspire and continue our change journey here at City of Wolverhampton Council?  We are seeking an experienced leader to work across our Children’s and Adult Services, leading on cross cutting priorities such as commissioning, partnerships and co-production.  This post will be accountable to the Executive Director of Families.  

This role has been developed as part of bringing together Children’s, Education and Adult services under a Families theme. It offers an exciting opportunity to shape the role and contribute towards developing excellent outcomes for families.

You will provide vision, leadership and direction to support in delivering aspirational outcomes for the City of Wolverhampton Council and our families. You will be responsible for formulating and recommending strategies and plans to the Strategic Executive Board, Cabinet and Council.

You will embed and continue to improve transformational change across the Families services, to inform and develop the local agenda and nurture a culture of innovation in the City and with partner agencies.

 You will ensure Children’s, Adults and SEND commissioning functions are effective and deliver a balance of value for money with high quality provision through well-developed engagement with the local markets delivered in within a ‘whole family’ approach.

You will be educated to degree level with relevant professional qualifications. Through senior management experience, you will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to think strategically and find creative solutions through partnership and collaboration which has resulted in achieving excellence and improved outcomes for children, young people, adults and families.
