As Deputy Director for Quality, Safety and Investigations you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a set of priority programmes and policies to improve quality and safety in the NHS and to ensure the health system as a whole responds and learns effectively when things go wrong.
You should be understanding and have the capability to deal with sensitive issues for example in relation to families who may have suffered harm or individuals who may have raised concerns, showing both good judgement and compassion. You will work closely with Ministers, the Department’s arms length bodies, clinicians and patients.
