As a primary adviser to Ministers and ExCo on all information services matters, you will be responsible for the delivery of advisory and casework- related services in support of the Ministry of Justice’s (MoJ) business, ensuring compliance with Freedom of Information, Data Protection, and Public Records legislation.
Given the scale, complexity and volume of requests in the MoJ this entails involvement with a wide range of interesting and often high-profile issues, as well as being able to influence across a number of organisations and offer advice and solutions to complex cases.
You will need to ensure the high standards we have set ourselves in terms of exceeding our targets are sustained and further improvements are made, wherever possible, in the quality of services offered to those inside and outside the Department.
You will need to work closely with other experts across government, as well as digital and technology colleagues, to seek further innovations to devise more effective ways of working, which could also deliver savings and more effective services. Strong leadership and change management skills will be key.
You will oversee the leadership of three separate teams (Branston Operations, Disclosure and Records Management), made up of around 100 staff based in two separate locations.
As a member of the Communication and Information Directorate’s (CID) senior management team, you will lead the creation of the strategy for the Information Services teams and supporting delivery plans, as well as playing an active role in the wider leadership, team engagement planning and business management of the Directorate. You will ensure your budget is always managed effectively.
