Who we are

The Design, User Experience and Media department is a dedicated, supportive and knowledgeable group of people who work collaboratively and creatively to deliver outstanding qualification and learning resources and services for the UK Schools and Colleges market. Within the department, we have a team dedicated to the typesetting and amendments of question papers. The designer role is within this team focusing on delivering the quality question papers.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced design typesetter who can provide expertise in the production of question papers, to the highest level of accuracy, with a focus on the graphics and artwork component of the unit's publications. The designer needs to ensure the security of the material is maintained throughout the paper production. A key team player, dependable and supportive, they will be part of a small very flexible and highly collaborative team.

Day to day you will:

  • Typeset and amend question papers, adhering to house styles.
  • Provide expertise to the team and colleagues in the production of question papers to the highest level of accuracy.
  • To ensure the security of the facility is maintained throughout the paper production.
  • To ensure quality standards are met and the procedures laid out within the ten stage processes of question paper production and the Ofqual code of practice are implemented.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • A Design/typesetting qualification or equivalent, relevant industry experience as well would be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of the latest Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
  • Experience of After effects or Animate is an advantage
  • Microsoft Office knowledge

  • Able to work fast and accurately under pressure across a wide range of formats
  • Well organised and able to follow processes to maintain a smooth workflow in a busy team
