This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and flexible individual to join the Development Operations team in the delivery of our key objectives, as we aim to reach our goal of being Scotland's most trusted and valued business. You will be liaising with development consultants and design engineers during the planning then to installation phases of new build developments. We aim to provide excellent customer service to the development community across Scotland treating and recognising all our customers as individuals.
As a Technical Advisor you key responsibilities will include:
•Provide excellent customer service, to developers, consultants and design engineers -putting them at the heart of all we do.
•Provide in-depth technical advice on water and waste water infrastructure and guidance to customers and stakeholders adapting your delivery based on your customer type.
•Audit of technical design submissions as per current legislation, standards and specification.
•Stakeholder management both internal and external – being able to build relationships is key to this role.
•Manage customer expectations within the regulation and legislation Scottish Water works within, e.g. Health and Safety and Work Act, Sewerage (Scotland) Act and Water (Scotland) Act.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in appointment of Technical Advisor we are looking for you to:
•Have a high level and proven track record of achieving customer service excellence.
•Have a strong customer service or technical background (such as water and waste water design experience).
•Have the ability to provide concise verbal and written reports as and when required.
•Have an understanding of current regulations and legislation e.g. Sewerage Scotland Act, Water Scotland Act, Health and Safety and Work Act.
•A HNC or HND qualification in an engineering subject would be desirable
You will work up to full time hours of 37 hours per week, based in one of the following Scottish Water’s offices: Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness, Prestwick or Dumfries. Please note due to the nature of the role, you will required to travel so a full driving licence is required.
