Role Summary:

Reuters is looking for a journalist with a passion for social media and a talent for editing video. Based in London, you'll be working with the team to update social media platforms and create social videos. The job requires a working knowledge of social tools and video editing software such as Adobe Premiere.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities: 

  • Coordinating and executing promotion and distribution of stories, videos, photos and graphics on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social platforms on which Reuters engages.
  • Planning and crafting social assets around major enterprise and investigation projects
  • Creating social content to draw global audience to Reuters news.
  • Upholding the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles


Key Relationships: 

The role requires relationships across Reuters news, with reporters around the world and throughout the newsroom. Producers report to the regional social editor and global social editor as well as working with an international team. 


Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and a strong personal participation that reflects some level of expertise and understanding of SocialFlow, Facebook Live, Twitter Moments, Video Publishing and Scribble Live
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective writing skills
  • Excellent news judgment and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced news environment with tight deadlines


Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Additional languages
  • Knowledge of Reuters Media Express, Eikon News and Messaging, Reuters Picture Archive, Reuters Graphics Server

Education/ Certifications: 

  • Solid journalism experience
  • Bachelor degree or above (journalism preferred but not necessary)
