About Higher Education Qualifications

The aim of the Higher Education Qualifications (HEQ) department is to ensure that Pearson’s qualifications are the gold standard in professional higher-level education. HEQ manage BTEC Higher Nationals, HEQ Digital, LCCI Professional qualifications and Progression & Recognition.

Position Summary

The Digital Product Management Analyst will work as part of the HEQ Digital team to develop and support the HN Global platform and other digital resources for the HEQ portfolio. The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Developing and driving the product roadmap; monitoring product performance
  • Ensuring product(s) meet customer expectations and requirements
  • Contributing to strategy and business development
  • Managing customer support

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Develop and drive the product roadmap; monitor product performance

  • Develop and implement the product content strategy
  • Identify and implement improvements and developments
  • Define and prioritise requirements and dependencies for platform development and digital content development
  • Monitor and report on product performance against agreed KPIs
  • Manage suppliers and stakeholders, both external and internal

Ensure product(s) meet customer expectations and requirements

  • Conduct market research to develop and maintain deep understanding of customer needs; to gain feedback; and to test new ideas
  • Use data and market insight to inform product improvements and developments
  • Conduct user testing and make recommendations
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and take action to drive improvements

Contribute to strategy and business development

  • Contribute to the development and periodic reviews of the customer value proposition
  • Contribute to the product strategy
  • Be accountable for the product budget
  • Contribute to the HEQ Digital strategy, including financial and operational forecasting
  • Brief and train sales colleagues, providing collateral as required

Manage customer support

  • Ensure customer queries are responded to within agreed SLAs and to required standard
  • Manage internal and external communications, in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Manage the HN Global online community
  • Manage the customer engagement strategy

Qualifications

Experience and Skills

Essential:

  • An understanding of digital development processes
  • Experience developing successful strategies for products and/or services
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Experience of working closely with product, marketing, sales and operational teams
  • Experience of conducting market research to inform product and proposition development
  • Knowledge of educational and learning technology trends
  • Some experience in one or more of: Drupal, HTML, Photoshop, eCRM tools (e.g. Maxemail or MailChimp), analytics

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Pearson BTEC Higher National portfolio, its products and markets
  • Experience of product management of digital products
  • Knowledge/experience of implementing efficacy
  • Experience of managing P&Ls

  • Undergraduate degree
