Position Purpose:

Global Corporate Affairs & Marketing (GCAM) communicates Pearson's unique position as the world's learning company, while building strong and enduring relationships with our key stakeholders around the globe. We focus on helping to strengthen our reputation with policy makers, influencers, the general public, and our employees. We ensure that our brand, communication, digital, and marketing efforts are being driven with global consistency. We are looking for an experienced communications professional to take on the role as Business Partner for Global Product. This role will coverall aspects of strategic communications, helping to build understanding and excitement around the team’s ambitious strategies. As a business partner you will work closely with others, including leaders of our Global Product division, Technology leaders, and experts across GCAM, to deliver communications in support of business results.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Business Partner leading corporate affairs activity for Global Product

Develop and execute the Global Product business communication strategy - ensuring messaging is clear, engaging and consistent throughout, and that activities are measured and analysed to inform ongoing strategy and tactics

Act as the guardian of Pearson’s product, capability and platform story, tosecure a coherent and consistent narrative. Maintain centrally held messaging and best practice around communications, support subject matter experts and ensure the narrative is represented within GCAM initiatives, including brand, thought leadership and the digital transformation story

Leverage GCAM channels and expertise to support Product Marketing as needed, for example to support new product launches

Act as the guardian of Pearson’s A.I. narrative developing the overarching positioning, messaging and communication strategy, orchestrating GCAM efforts across government, media & investor relations, in close collaboration with brand and marketing

Provide strategic counsel to Global Product senior leaders on reputation enhancement opportunities deriving from Center of Expertise capabilities, working in close partnership with the Efficacy and Research communications business partner

Protect the reputation of Global Product, including co-ordinating Global Products incident management response across Pearson

Provide support, advice and coaching for the GCAM team in matters relating to Global Product

Establish key metrics and analyze insights to inform ongoing communications

Partner with other team members in Corporate Affairs, including the agency team and GCAM workstream leads on the creation and delivery of company-wide strategic communication themes

Manage and mentor more junior team members to help develop our talent

Key Attributes:

Extensive experience in a similar leadership role in , product development, technology, research, corporate affairs, communications, and/or business partnering, includingexperience in an agency or consulting firm is strongly preferred especially client account management or business development,with a proven track record of:
