Position Purpose:

Global Corporate Affairs & Marketing (GCAM) communicates Pearson's unique position as the world's learning company, while building strong and enduring relationships with our key stakeholders around the globe. We focus on helping to strengthen our reputation with policy makers, influencers, the general public, and our employees. We ensure that our brand, communication, digital, and marketing efforts are being driven with global consistency. Collectively, our work is anchored in building a strong global Pearson brand with social purpose at its heart.

We are looking for an experienced communications professional to take on the role as Business Partner for Global Product. This role will coverall aspects of strategic internal and external outreach and communications, helping to build understanding and excitement around the team’s ambitious strategies. As a business partner you will work closely with others, including leaders of our Global Product division, Technology leaders, and experts across GCAM, to deliver communications in support of business results.

Reporting to theVP, Technology, Operations and Global Product you willhelp shape Pearson’s profile overall, specifically relating to Global Product initiatives, and play a part in building the team’s global community and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Business Partner leading corporate affairs activity for Global Product

Develop and execute the Global Product business communication strategy - covering internal and external audiences, ensuring messaging is clear, engaging and consistent throughout, and that activities are measured and analysed to inform ongoing strategy and tactics

Build and protect the reputation of Global Product - proactive and reactive, including crisis management, working across Pearson to ensure consistent approach and joined up global / local approach

Act as the guardian of Pearson’s Product story, maintaining centrally held messaging and best practice around communications, supporting subject matter experts and ensuring the narrative is represented within GCAM initiatives, including brand, thought leadership and the digital transformation story

Partner with Global Product senior leaders providing strategic consultation on internal and external communications and outreach, and reputation enhancement

Partner with business leaders and Human Resources to deliver communications associated with major change programs and support employee engagement

Provide support, advice and coaching for the GCAM team in matters relating to Global Product

Establish key metrics and analyze insights to inform ongoing communications

Partner with other team members in Corporate Affairs, including the agency team and GCAM workstream leads on the creation and delivery of company-wide strategic communication themes

Manage and mentor more junior team members to help develop our talent

Qualifications

Key Attributes:

Extensive experience in a similar leadership role in , product development, technology, research, corporate affairs, communications, and/or business partnering, includingexperience in an agency or consulting firm is strongly preferred especially client account management or business development,with a proven track record of:
