BEIS plays a leading role in tackling climate change and driving decarbonisation, including through the UK’s hosting of the COP26 event and Net Zero work so there couldn’t be a more critical moment to lead the UK (and indeed the rest of the world) in fundamentally transforming our economy to both reduce emissions and capture economic advantage.
The DG Net Zero Strategy and International is one of the most important and inspiring roles across Whitehall - with genuine world-changing impact, creating jobs and economic opportunity today while preserving the planet for future generations
To achieve this vital agenda BEIS is looking for someone who is energised by the thought of gripping the exciting challenges of the Net Zero agenda whilst at the same time can build relationships of trust across Government and the economy, so that we can work well together to deliver on such an important global issue.
This mandate is a large and complex one and the role requires someone with the suitable skill and gravitas to achieve this. If you are a strategic operator, with excellent judgement, who is able to make critical decisions at pace and work closely with the Permanent Secretary to manage the relationships between the centre of Government, departments and key partners, then we would be keen to hear from you.
