Reporting to the Deputy Chief Defence Staff (Military Capability), you will be responsible for the direction and assurance of the infrastructure system across the Department and for driving the development and management of a £6Bn defence estate. You will also lead the alignment of infrastructure planning, broader Departmental strategies and engage effectively with the Government Property Function, as one of the Government ‘Property Leaders’.
We have no preconceptions on the background or sector experience of the successful applicant and are not specifying a detailed knowledge of the Armed Forces. However, you will need to demonstrate strong, effective stakeholder management skills, good project and programme management experience and an ability to make and implement complex decisions. While this is a challenging role which will require determination and excellent influencing skills, it offers great potential to build a wide portfolio of expertise.
All aspects of Defence require a diversity of thought and experience, so whatever your background and aspirations I am sure that leading Defence’s infrastructure challenges will provide you with an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference to the future of Defence.
