Job Description

The Director of Estates is employed by the Ministry of Justice, based in its headquarters, and is a member of the MoJ Corporate Services Group and reports to the Ministry’s Chief Operating Officer, Matthew



The post holder will:


  • •Lead and be accountable for the provision of estate services across the Justice, Law & Home Affairs cluster ensuring they meet the operational requirements of key stakeholders;
  • Ensure the Directorate has an engaged, skilled and motivated workforce with a workforce plan to deliver current and future objectives;
  • Develop appropriate governance and communications for the cluster businesses to ensure that they have appropriate and streamlined access to services;
  • Lead implementation and delivery of new investment and maintenance programmes, the estimated value of which is c.£250m per annum;
  • Lead commissioning and contract management of multi- disciplinary suppliers providing professional and delivery services to the cluster estates;
  • Lead efficiency programmes to reduce the cost of the cluster estate and realise maximum value from asset disposals.
