If so, you may be our next Director, Trade and Economics India at the Department for International Trade (DIT).

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is a department for the whole of the UK. We have overall responsibility for promoting UK trade across the world and attracting foreign investment to our shores, under the leadership of the Secretary of State (SoS), the Rt. Hon Liam Fox MP. DIT is working across the government and its extensive overseas networks to help UK businesses win lucrative deals. DIT supports UK businesses to take advantage of the global appetite for British goods and services, as well as to assist international companies to collaborate with UK suppliers.

In light of Britain’s exit from the EU the UK needs to use its sovereign trade policy tools to further transform and develop trade opportunities with India as an important commercial partner.

As Director Trade and Economics, you will be in an exciting leadership role as part of the UK Trade, Economics and Prosperity (UKTEP) team. UKTEP are at the heart of the British High Commission Network’s priorities and governance working closely with the High Commissioner, the Director General (based in Mumbai) and the seven Deputy High Commissioners (DHC).

While it is not essential, prior knowledge of, or exposure to, India, would be beneficial.  Any knowledge of Hindi would help your stay here and your social networking, but the government and business community work in English.

If you think you have the skills, experience and ambition that we are looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
