SUMMARY

The Editorial Services Analyst is a key member of the team responsible for managing content development tasks across Literacy. The Editorial Services Analyst focuses exclusively on the tasks required to enable internal editorial staff and suppliers to meet milestone markers and manage to project interdependencies. The Editorial Services Analyst provides administrative direction and support for all noncritical-content tasks, such as managing transmittals and tracking to schedules, managing workflows, providing quality control of tearsheets to include proofreading and light editing and copyediting post-publication, and assisting in reviews of PDFs. The Editorial Services Analyst is key in providing support to ensure schedules align and are met.

This is a 6 month assignment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and monitor schedules across multiple teams and track to digital deployments.
  • Continuously improve functional processes to support scheduling and tracking of projects in development.
  • Oversee preparation, distribution, and archiving of all key program documents.
  • Ensure all necessary teams are meeting timelines.
  • Continuously improve functional processes to support scheduling and tracking of projects in development.
  • Anticipate issues and risks associated with project implementation and develop strategies to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Manage multiple projects, tasks, priorities, and internal expectations.
  • Work with technical project managers to ensure that technical schedules for the program are integrated to the degree that dependencies are identified and resolved in advance.
  • Work with content managers to ensure that content schedules are integrated to the degree that dependencies are identified and resolved in advance.
  • Effectively summarize and communicate project status.
  • Initiate set up of Alfresco folders, FTPs and other repositories.
  • Oversee state errata processes.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Requirements:

  • Minimum BA/BS in a Project Management, Business Management, or education-related discipline preferred.
  • Product Development experience in Language Arts/Literacy strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing complex Editorial or Product Development projects through all phases of the project lifecycle to a successful conclusion (on time, on budget, benefits delivered).
  • Familiarity with educational technology and/or publishing.
  • Process Management and/or certification a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong technical, process analysis, documentation, and mapping skills.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills: Ability to negotiate a complex organizational structure.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets; Adobe Acrobat; content management systems
