Our innovative and award-winning law firm is looking to expand their highly regarded Community Care Law department by adding Education Law to the areas that we cover.

Job Description

Cate Searle, a nationally recognised Community Care Law expert, is looking for an ambitious and committed Education Lawyer, who also has experience of areas which overlap with Community Care Law.

With at least two years’ experience of working within this area of law, you will be familiar with advising parents of children who have been excluded, are out of school or have special educational needs. You will be a strong communicator currently undertaking Advocacy at the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal, at school admission appeals and at school exclusion appeals.

You will have demonstrable experience of applying public law principles to privately funded case work.

Your empathetic approach will enable you to support and advise vulnerable individuals and their families including adults and children with autism and children with challenging behaviour.

Additionally, you will have experience of challenging health and social care assessments and decisions, including disabled adults, children in need, disabled children, care leavers and carers.

You need to be an effective problem solver who would like to join a forward thinking and growing law firm which prides itself on its service to clients. This year we won the Law Society Excellence Award in Business Development for our new Service for Professional Deputies, a Community Care Law and Employment Law training, advice and representation service for Private Client and Personal Injury solicitors.

With new case management and phone systems and a supportive working culture, we are able to offer this role as full or part-time and will consider flexible working. We are an Equal Opportunities employer and work to Lexcel and Investors in People standards.

We are committed to ongoing professional development and all our employees have access to quality based training and career development in a friendly and team based working environment. We offer the opportunity for everyone to play a key role in our continuing growth and expansion.
