Your Opportunity

  • Flexible for home/remote working: This position can be UK home-based if you prefer, or you can work in Harlow Essex or Central London offices.
  • Permanent & full-time working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Salary up to £38,000 depending on experience.

Would you like to work with an enthusiastic and talented team of education professionals who provide a range of consultancy and specialist services around learning design, curriculum design, technology-enhanced learning and staff development?

At Pearson, we’re excited to be recruiting for an Education/Learning Technology Consultant to support technical solutions activities for internal teams and external customers. You will be undertaking technical/functional research and testing into the suitability of a range of Pearson technologies, VLE platforms, digital authoring tools, video streaming technology and other learning technologies. The successful candidate will support the implementation of technology solutions across a range of Pearson products and services.

This role is an essential team-player in identifying and recommending best practice/direction in terms of technology environments to ensure solutions are innovative, scalable and sustainable. The post holder will be an Education/Learning technology specialist with strong digital development skills and a good knowledge of the digital learning landscape. This role will be key to developing our digital/technical capabilities and ways of working.

In this influential role, you’ll work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and shape appropriate technology choices that are scalable, sustainable and accessible. This is a role that combines technical, problem solving and listening skills. Working within a matrix organisation you will need to be able to develop positive working relationships quickly and often at a distance. As we work with Universities throughout the UK you may be expected to travel to University campuses across the UK and may be away from home overnight.

Our Successful Candidate

We are interested in applicants with a Degree in IT/Software/Engineering or related subject along with experience working within the Education sector and familiar with a range of VLEs and other learning technology systems.

You’ll have a solid understanding of how technology can be used to support learning in Higher Education and have worked alongside technical teams to deliver appropriate technology solutions. You will be an effective and confident Education/Learning Technologist or Technical Solutions professional with experience in learning/assessment technologies, VLEs, authoring tools, programming and accessibility.
