Reporting to the Director, Employee Communications, the Employee Communications Specialist will help deliver the employee communications strategy, in line with our digital transformation, and build the team’s global community and culture.

The role will be a part of the Employee Communications team in Global Corporate Affairs & Marketing, whose focus is to support the business to communicate major change and cultural transformation, to provide tools and frameworks to drive consistency around employee communication, ensure comms are aligned to the broader strategic narrative and organizational health efforts, and drive employee engagement with the brand.
Under the direction of Director, Employee Communications, this role will deliver on assigned employee communications activities as part of the GCAM agency model.
Communicating centrally-led activity
Support HR and Operations Comms leads to deliver effective communications to strict deadlines, across multiple channels
Deliver on communications as part of the ongoing transformation of Pearson, including supporting on sensitive activity including restructures, leadership changes, and ongoing change programs)
Provide support on communications activity, editing, and shaping content created by subject matter experts to create materials that resonate for a general employee audience (e.g. line managers, all employees)
Create and roll out tools and frameworks to drive consistency and efficiencies for internal communicators across the business (e.g. manager toolkit).
Supporting Business Partner employee communications (for Exec level)
Delivering communication plans for large and small projects and activities, working with others across GCAM including flex resource from the Account team
Reflect overarching global messaging in business-specific communications , and ensure tone and language is consistent, clear, and aligns to the brand
Communication Production and Delivery
Produce and deliver high-quality communications for employees across multiple channels and formats
Manage design, or partner with others where appropriate, to create high-quality content that reflects brand guidelines(e.g. Newsletters and Neo content)
Effectively use, analyze and enhance employee communication channels and tools, implementing new and innovative approaches to extend reach and impact
Support the EC Business Partners to deliver timely and compelling engagement opportunities with employees, such as "unplugged" events, virtual Exec-led events, blogs, video postings, digital communications, and in-person events.
Intranet & Global Campaigns
Ensure that communication plans are included in the broader Employee Communications' editorial calendar, and that materials produced are reflective of the overarching Pearson strategy and narrative, consistent in tone and language, on-brand and high quality
Coordinate content and distribution of globalnewsletters
Provide governance for Employee Comms owned intranet spaces for the wider Pearson employee community, providing consistent, high-quality, engaging information and a forum for open discussion
Execute on special programs and campaigns, which are designed to inform, engage, and inspire employees.
Degree (or equivalent skills/experience) in Communications or Marketing preferred1-3 years of related experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to distill information into a concise, simple message to share through a variety of communication channels
Excellent digital skills including high proficiency in PowerPoint, the Google suite of tools. Adobe photo and video editing experience preferred.
Experience using social media platforms and enterprise social network (e.g. Jive Software, Sharepoint) would be an advantage
Works independently, as well as a member of a high-profile, high-stakes team
Excellent organizational and time management skills, coupled with the proven ability to set priorities, manage deadlines, and make data-driven decisions
Curious and creative thinker and problem solver with a good sense of humor and the ability to influence
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once
A high level of personal integrity and ability to handle confidential matters
