Job Description

Role Summary:

Covering both primary and secondary markets, the reporter will be at the heart of the European leveraged loans coverage for Loan Pricing Corp's real-time product, IFR magazine and Thomson Reuters' real-time products.

He or she will chase deals and break stories, ensuring that readers and subscribers remain on top of every development in the sector.

We are looking for a reporter who is comfortable talking to senior bankers, investors and traders in the loan markets. He or she should be comfortable writing real-time news and longer form analytical features. 

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Proactive approach to generating credit market content written for expert and non-expert clients
  • Establishing and maintaining close contact with bankers, traders, investors
  • Ensuring a daily flow of information on new issue news, pricing and secondary market move and themes is covered efficiently and timely fashion across the products
  • Breaking news on the real time services
  • Exercising sound judgment on what is moving markets and why

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of financial markets
  • Previous experience of working in a reporting or journalism role
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines

Education/ Certifications:

  • Degree level education (preferred)
  • Continental European language abilities (preferred)
