Job Description

The Fundraising Team at Stonewall inspires the public and our existing supporters to play their part in working towards acceptance without exception, as an individual, as part of a community or as part of an organisation, by contributing voluntary income to Stonewall. The department raises more than £3.6m per year and is the largest income-generating team in the charity.

The Events Team is responsible for delivering all flagship fundraising events. The team also delivers a portfolio of cultivation, stewardship and beneficiary events. This role will support the team in the delivery of our biggest fundraising events.

This role will primarily support Stonewall’s Events Officer to manage and support Stonewall’s fundraising portfolio. Tasks include:

  • Support in researching and securing raffle and auction prizes, including contacting potential donors
  • Copywriting and collection of visual assets
  • Database entry
  • Internet research
  • Logistics support

We are searching for Events Volunteers for both the Summer period and throughout Autumn to carry out 2-3 days per week, for minimum of 3 months. This will take place during office hours (9.30am-5.30pm), Monday to Friday.

We are looking for someone who is confident and professional. You should be comfortable in approaching new contacts over the phone and via email, as well as at events. You should also have;

  • Good attention to detail 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with the Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in events or fundraising is useful but not essential

Stonewall will provide you with relevant training, and support from a member of the team. This role will be supervised by and report to the Events Officer.
