The Role:

To support the growth and development of the business we are looking to recruit a Finance Manager (Accounting) for 6 months to support the Financial Controller in developing first-class reporting and delivering an efficient audit and Financial Statements process whilst we recruit for the permanent position.

Responsibilities:

Financial reporting

  • Review of the monthly close and balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Supporting the business in accounting within its new US subsidiary, including sales tax and payroll compliance
  • Continuous improvement of the month end process

Driving technical excellence throughout the department

  • Being the go-to person on technical accounting issues such as group consolidation, accounting for financial instruments, share-based payments, capital projects and acquisition accounting and leading on key papers for the auditors
  • Establishing accounting policies and documentation relating to new and existing business activities

Financial processes and internal controls

  • Supporting in the design and implementation of new processes and controls around the soon to be adopted Accounting and CRM systems
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of the internal control environment as the business changes and scales
  • Working with external advisors
  • Working with UK and US tax advisors
  • Working with other external advisors and auditors

Key internal relationships

  • Lead the Accounting team (2 direct reports) through the month end process
  • Close collaboration with the FP&A function to support the budgeting and reforecasting process and the monthly department reporting
  • Working closely with the operational Finance teams where necessary on areas such as accrued and deferred revenue
  • Regular exposure to Finance Leadership team, including CFO, HoF and the Financial Controller, who will be the role’s direct line manager
  • Ad-hoc reporting for board reporting and management

Personal Specification:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally in a medium sized organisation (c1000-1500 employees) or in a private equity backed business.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce would be beneficial but is not a requirement
  • Previous line management experience and strong technical knowledge within excel (including Power Query) are nice-to-haves but not essential and can be learned on the job.

Job Type: Fixed term contract – 6 months – hybrid working.

Salary: pro-rated annual salary of £70,000-£80,000 depending on experience
