We are currently looking to recruit Grade 4 Forensic Tactical Advisors to join our Operational Forensic Team to support our national response in Warrington, West Midlands, Bristol and South East. 

To be successful in this role you will deliver all aspects of forensic support to the Agency in order to develop intelligence in the proactive environment and securing forensic evidence in reactive operational activity. 

We are seeking candidates who are: 

  • Experienced in NPCC Force Forensic response to major crime with crime scene management and co-ordination skills. 

and/or 

  • Experience in NPCC Level2 or Level 3 covert forensic recovery techniques and operational support. 
  • Experienced in all aspects of crime scene management, co-ordination of staff, priority setting, health & safety and recovery of physical evidence. 
  • Experienced in the provision of forensic advice and the setting of forensic strategies in support of operational activity. 
  • The successful candidate will be required to ensure operational activity is carried out thoroughly, professionally, expeditiously and in accordance with NCA Policy and the current legislation. 
  • Work within the NCA Forensic Quality Management System to support the ISO accreditation and compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator Codes of Practice for NCA Crime Scene Services. 


To be considered, you will need to be able to successfully complete SC Enhanced clearance upon entry. 

You may also be required to undertake a mandatory pre-employment substance misuse test and achieve a satisfactory result.

Essential Qualifications/Skills 
You will be required to supply evidence of: 

  • Attendance at a Crime Scene Investigators training course (or equivalent certified training in Crime Scene Investigations) and Crime Scene Managers Course (or equivalent certified training in Crime Scene Managers) at College of Policing

Experience Criteria 

You will be required to supply a suitability statement (in no more than 250 words per criteria) 

  • Developing Forensic Strategies to support the SIO Investigation Strategy and the Intelligence Operating Model. 
  • Proven experience of building effective partnerships and working collaboratively with Key internal stakeholder and external partners. 
  • Proven track record of engagement in early case assessment and triage of forensic evidence to internal and external forensic service providers.

Qualifications

Candidates are required to provide evidence of the following qualification/accreditation: 

  •  Attendance at a Crime Scene Investigators training course (or equivalent certified training in Crime Scene Investigations) and Crime Scene Managers Course (or equivalent certified training in Crime Scene Managers ) at College of Policing.

Technical skills

We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • National Insurance Number - Required for monitoring purposes only
  • Detailed knowledge of CPIA disclosure and procedures
  • Current experience in crime scene management and crime scene investigations
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation affecting Agency activity
  • Report writing and briefing skills
  • Management and co-ordination of crime scenes
  • Managing Staff
