The NCA is leading on this major independent investigation into non-familial child sexual abuse and exploitation in Rotherham, South Yorkshire and we are growing the team to ensure that we continue to focus on the needs of the victims and survivors and drive forward our enquiries as quickly as we can.
The complexity of the investigation is unparalleled. Victims and survivors have been exploited or abused by many individuals in locations across the UK over a number of years. The majority of suspects have offended against more than one victim and many have been involved in organised trafficking.
The operation is set up in line with the Major Incident Room Standard Administrative Procedures (MIRSAP) and uses the HOLMES data system as well as NCA Intelligence databases.
