The Empowerment Programmes Team
Stonewall’s Empowerment Programmes exist to accelerate equality for LGBT people by:
Expertly supporting the personal and professional development of LGBT leaders, role models and allies at work, at school and in the wider community
Creating and supporting a growing network of influential Stonewall alumni who are visible, successful lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans role models and leaders spanning all sectors and communities
Creating bespoke resources and programmes which empower and enable individuals, organisations and communities to provide an inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people
Head of Conferences and Events
Reporting to the Director of Empowerment, they directly own a portfolio of key events that cut across Stonewall teams, and provide the wider organisation with expertise to empower teams to deliver their own commercial or client-facing conferences and events. They are accountable for the income and expenditure budgets of the conferences and events team, for developing new conference and event offerings, and reviewing existing programmes to ensure they have a social impact and generate income for the organisation. They will implement a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
They directly manage a small team to support development and delivery of conferences and events; coordinate cross-organisation input (from Assistant to CEO level) to ensure Stonewall’s programme is delivered to time, quality, budget and safety requirements, and manage relationships with diverse external stakeholders and speakers to Board level.
The role oversees the running of the Conferences and Events team including the Content and Marketing Manager and Officer roles.
