Job Description

We’ve made a significant impact on the lives of lesbian, gay, bi and trans (LGBT) people in the UK since we were founded in 1989, but our impact and progress would have been hindered if we didn’t have the money to fund our campaigns and there is still a long way to go before we reach a society where LGBT people are treated equally and fairly.

As the Head of Major Giving you’ll help ensure we raise the funds to help us achieve acceptance without exception by leading this team of three to raise £650k p/a.  You will join the Fundraising Team which is the largest income generating team at Stonewall, raising over £3m p/a with a three year plan to deliver significant growth.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a creative and innovative individual to make a significant contribution to the aims of Stonewall, building on solid foundations to help us achieve our ambitious growth targets. Supporting the Director of Fundraising, you’ll focus on creating, building and maintaining long-term relationships with our existing mid and high-level donors and be responsible for implementing a major gifts programme. You will also be responsible for developing our new volunteer board to maximise its impact.

You’ll be a big part of a key team, so you’ll need to demonstrate that you’ve significant experience of securing major gifts and of developing major donor programmes in a fast moving, target driver third sector environment with proven success in leading a team.

Well-grounded in the principles of donor care and supporter journeys, you’ll be experienced in identifying opportunities and applying sound strategic thinking in developing new major gift propositions and major donor engagement activity with a strong level of knowledge and insight into current and emerging trends in major giving, in sector and with high net worth individuals.

If you’ve the right mix of skills and experience – and want to play a part in improving the lives of LGBT in the UK and around the world - then please complete an application form by 9.30am on the 24th January 2019. Interviews will be held  the 1st of February.
