The Responsible Business team at Charles Russell Speechlys are actively seeking an experienced Head of Social Impact to join the team. This is a very exciting team to join the growing team on a permanent, full time basis in London.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities (this is a broad but not exhaustive list)
The role includes:
Leading the design and development of a new Social Impact Strategy for the Firm, ensuring that everything the Firm does to create social value – charitable fundraising, support for the CRS Foundation charity partners, community investment, social mobility initiatives and pro bono work – is aligned for maximum social impact, raises the profile of the Firm with key audiences and creates opportunities to strengthen key client and commercial relationships.
Overseeing the day-to-day delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the Firm’s Social Impact Strategy.
Overseeing the multi-layered support that the Firm provides to the CRS Foundation Partner Charities and identifying opportunities to strengthen these important relationships.
Identifying potential new charity partners for the CRS Foundation, for consideration by the CRS Foundation Trustees, to which the Firm can add significant value through pro bono work, volunteering and other forms of support.
Overseeing the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the Firm’s Community Investment programme, with a focus on developing: (i) professional skills volunteering opportunities for the Firm’s business resource talent; and (ii) volunteering and community projects that create opportunities for team building and/or engage the Firm’s clients and intermediaries.
Leading the development of a new Social Mobility Strategy for the Firm and overseeing the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the Firm’s existing social mobility initiatives, including our Career Start programme.
Working closely with Partners across the Firm and with the Business Development & Marketing Team to identify opportunities to engage clients and intermediaries in our social impact and social mobility initiatives.
Overseeing the Firm’s internal communications on social impact and social mobility, ensuring that we leverage technology to drive engagement and participation.
Overseeing the Firm’s external communications on social impact and social mobility, including taking a leading role developing relevant content for flagship publications, including the Firm’s annual Responsible Business Report.
Contributing content on the Firm’s Social Impact and Social Mobility programmes to client pitches.
Representing the Firm at seminars and conferences.
Leading the Social Impact and Social Mobility budgeting processes and being accountable for relevant spending and investments.
Qualifications & Experience
A senior social impact / CSR professional with at least 6 years’ experience designing and leading strategic social impact programmes.
Experience developing effective and high impact volunteering initiatives for a commercial organisation.
Experience working with marketing professionals to develop and deliver effective internal and external communications.
Experience leading a budgeting process and managing a significant budget.
Experience managing a small team and working collaboratively with other managers on cross-team / cross-organisational projects.
Preferably experience in working in a large commercial organisation
