This is an exciting position with​in Pearson’s Organisational Resilience and Resilience function. The person who will be selected for this role is already a competent business continuity and resilience professional who can engage and deliver at senior management level. Based at the Company headquarters, the successful candidate will report to the Director of Global Business Resilience and will be responsible for the co-ordination of all BCM activities throughout​the UK utilising their management, operational knowledge and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate is a self-starting individual who is a strong team player yet independently delivers results

Accountability​

This is a wide-ranging role with responsibility for managing and delivering the UK aspect of the Pearson  Risk and Resilience  program which includes an ISO 22301 certification program. This is a mid-level position with several functions and responsibilities which include development, implementation and management of a comprehensive business continuity and resilience management program for relevant business areas.

For their remit, the candidate will:

  • Ensure​governance​ and compliance against the global Resilience policy
  • Influence local policies, standards and strategic direction
  • Work closely with business and country leaders ensuring resiliency processes and requirements are followed and identifying areas for improvement overseeing reviews of risk assessment, business impact analysis and business recovery planning
  • Ensure documented plans and crisis communication/incident management capabilities are embedded, tested and exercised
  • Support​ due ​diligence programs and the auditing of critical third-party vendors
  • Disseminate knowledge, raise awareness and act as a conduit of information across​stakeholders. This will include knowledge on ISO 22301
  • Provide BCM/ITDR expertise and management direction on new company initiatives
  • Prepare dashboard/executive reports​ as required
  • Directly support colleagues in the Organisational Risk and Resilience team, as they will support you
  • Take on Duty Officer responsibility on rotation basis
  • Travel as required throughout the ​UK, and may include international travel​

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in implementing and certifying against international Business Continuity standard ISO 22301
  • Facilitating desktop-scenario exercises and organising BCP tests
  • ITDR implementation and experience desirable
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in other Risk Management areas i.e. ISO27001/Supply Chain desirable
  • Be able to independently handle and prioritise multiple tasks to achieve target dates within remit
  • Experience in performing ‘hands-on’ BCM/ITDR reviews and assessments of business operations

Qualifications

  • Certified Business Continuity Professional or equivalent

Desirable

  • ISO22301 Auditor
  • Experience in managing incidents
