Making sure that everyone who works for Macmillan whether as a member of staff or volunteer is able to carry out their work safely is vital and this important role is key.

Job Description

If you have practical experience and a sound understanding of health & safety guidelines and legislation, we can offer you the opportunity to join our team and help develop and improve the way health & safety is delivered across the whole of Macmillan.

You’ll be involved in all aspects of Health & Safety – from premises to events and our work with volunteers. Contributing to the development and improvement of our existing health and safety systems, you’ll provide guidance and training to employees, committees and volunteers. You’ll support them in adopting and applying guidelines and procedures in line with best practice in health and safety. To that end, you’ll also maintain appropriate records and statistics, undertake regular audits, risk assessments and inspections, as well as contributing to the content of newsletters, contracts and tenders.

An approachable, customer-focused and pragmatic enabler, you are both supportive and highly self-motivated and have the well-developed communication and relationship-building skills essential to influence colleagues and stakeholders at every level of our own and other organisations.

While a heath and safety qualification is desirable, experience of the management of events and organisation of premises is of equal relevance and importance for this role.
